The Astronomer Royal gave in an account of the going of Mr Earnshaws two Watches at the Royal observatory from 24th July 1801 to 24 November 1802. by which it appeared that their Errors in periods of Six Months each, had exceeded the limits prescribed by the Act-

Resolved,

That any further trial of them at the Royal observatory should be discontinued-

A Letter from Mr Earnshaw was read requesting that the Board would be pleased to order his Watches under trial at the Royal observatory to be sent to sea-

Resolved,

That as Mr Earnshaw's Watches have not gone within the limits prescribed by the Act the Board cannot comply with his request-

A Letter signed Mr Robson, dated 6th Nov. 1802. was read_Stating that he had discovered the Longitude by a demonstration of the true property of Squares, and also to Quadrate the Circle- The Board deemed not worthy of their attention-
