Wet through. V. [very] unpleasant walk along muddy lane. Got back to Djiaodaiso and had quite a good lunch, including some American rations.

Δ [Dorothy Needham] went to bed with temperature of 100 degrees, cold, flu. TC [Tsao Tien-chin, Cao Tianqin] and I took out Profs Sun [Sun Runchen], Yang [Yang Qingtang] (Honan Ta [National Henan University]) and Li Fu-Ching [Li Fujing], as arranged, to dinr [dinner] at Bingchou Rest [Restaurant].
